My zig zag quilt finished

This was the project from my most recent Sew Along from earlier this month. Such a fun and easy block to make!

Cindy C. also participated and sent me a photo of her completed top.

Cindy C's zig zag quilt top

Cindy used a variety of light colored solids for the light fabric in her blocks. I love it!

Both of our quilts finish at 40" by 48" which is a great baby quilt size and charity quilt size.

If you want to make one too, the instructions for this block can be found by following the link above the ...

Paroma from Sew Preeti Quilts

I have a new finish to share. Meet Paroma.  Although the quilt was completed in August 2022
(hence the lush green backdrop), I had to sit tight till now.

Paroma. 56" by 68"

Paroma is a Fat quarter friendly quilt published in Quilt Patterns - Fun Fat Quarter Quilts for Spring (anniescatalog.com)  With 22 FQ projects for just under $10, this is a steal.

Paroma uses 20 FQs and was fun to make.

In process

20 FQs make 20 stars and yield enough fabric to make a scrappy happy border.  Paroma finished at 56" by 68" and it just sparkles ...

This fabric collection is a must have! My favorite colors + gold metallic accents .. from Quilt Addicts Anonymous

This week’s new arrivals are amazing! I cannot get over the rich beauty of Luminosity by Deborah Edwards for Northcott Fabrics.

The teals, dark blues and greens combined with gold metallic accents make it my favorite color palette of all time. Plus the butterfly and peacock feather images, with a beautiful panel are just gorgeous.

You absolutely will love the two prints where the design runs from one selvedge edge to the other. Both are just begging to be used in a special way, like borders or quilt backing.

And for something completely different we have Tutu Much Attitude ...

Super Fast Fat Quarter Pattern Perfect for Showing Off Kaffe! from Quilt Addicts Anonymous

Garden Plot is one of my favorite patterns I’ve designed because it is perfect for showing off fabrics you don’t want to cut up.

The large sections of fabric and constant color changes make it perfect for Kaffe because you can just have a riot of color and show off those beautiful designs.

The shot cotton background is absolutely fantastic. The mix of a deep teal and purple threads almost gives it an iridescent look to it.

Easy Loop Meander – Beginner Friendly Free Motion Quilting Stitch from Quilt Addicts Anonymous

Today we’re going to look at how I quilted Whirligig, our latest Stashin’ with Stephanie pattern with an easy loop meander.

This beginner-friendly free motion quilting stitch is great as an all over design. For Whirligig, I wanted something fast, but that I could customize to fit the size of the blocks and quilt the background separately from the print fabrics.

So I loaded the quilt on sideways so I was quilting from top to bottom so I could quilt the entire way across without having to break my thread. Then I quilted the easy loop meander in the ...

Rulerwork Quilting Triangles! Great quilting designs for half square triangles from Quilt Addicts Anonymous

In today’s video I am showing you how I quilted Tropical Garden, our latest Stashin’ with Stephanie pattern.

The fat quarter-friendly is packed with half square triangles, and I wanted to accentuate that with the quilting. So I outlined every single triangle with stitch-in-the-ditch and then stitched a triangle through the center of each HST half.

I love the way it turned out. The texture of the quilting mimics the design of the quilt and it’s fabulous. You can watch as I quilt seeing how I move the ruler around to create this texture with minimal thread breaks ...

“Spring Dance” was just published in the Late Spring 2021 issue of Quilter’s World magazine, and also in the Fat-Quarter Friendly Quilts publication. These colors are so beautiful! They are from the Balboa collection by Sherri & Chelsi for Moda Fabrics.

It measures 54″ x 70″ and the blocks finish at 12″ and 4″. It comes together super fast so it is a fun weekend project. If you are a beginner quilter, this pattern is ...

Building Blocks: All About Precut Fabric from The Cutting Table Quilt Blog - A Blog for Quilters by Quilters

Precut fabric saves time and effort when creating quilting projects.

Precut fabric revolutionized the quilting world. The quilting skill was historically passed down through teaching – one would learn the intricate and mathematical approach of measuring and cutting fabric by hand from the generation that came before. Anyone who has pieced a quilt knows it’s difficult work! Before you could even consider your project or layout, all the fabrics must be cut from bolts or repurposed from used materials. The margin for error was extraordinary, a single miscalculation could jeopardize an entire quilting project.

Quilting is now easier and more ...
